Additional production capacity in Hall 3 - Series production start in progress
Detmold, 06.01.2020 - in the last few days before Christmas a lot has happened again in hall 3 at the LEAX Detmold GmbH plant: A total of 4 new machines has been delivered, which further increase the manufacturing capacity of our serial production for the automotive industry.
The second soft machining line was delivered as well as another machine for hard-turning operations.
The soft machining line consists of two lathes and one gear milling machine, which are all connected by a TrackMotion system, so that the exchange of workpieces can be carried out unmanned. The production line buffers the milled gears in a finished part magazine, where a robot cell automatically threads the parts onto racks for further heat treatment.
The loading of the hard turning machine is also carried out by a robot cell. For this purpose, the robot cells and the necessary safety equipment have already been installed the weeks before, so that starting up production can take place early in the new year 2020.
This year, a total of two further soft machining lines and various machines for the hard turning and tooth flank grinding processes will follow, so that by the end of the year, a total of 4 complete machining cells will be built at Detmold plant for our major automotive project.
